A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR
Listen to our Pastor, Christian Newsome, share his heart for what God is doing through the Difference Maker Campaign to impact generations to come.
WHY
The Difference Maker Campaign is designed to help us continue to accomplish the vision that God has given our church, “To see people far from God become passionate Christians who make a difference in the world”, by expanding the footprint of our church’s building.
After 8 years of impactful ministry, including the past 3 years in our current facility, we believe it is time to expand our building in order to accomplish some of the key parts of our Vision and Core Beliefs:
Spiritual Growth
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can create an experience for Worship services that allows for personal ministry, intimate worship, time to respond to Bible teaching, and time and space for healthy community and healing soul-care.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can offer our congregation time, space, and a place to connect in spiritual community in order to be poured into spiritually and in order to pour into others spiritually without being rushed or crushed by the growing amount of people in a space not designed to minister to them as well as we feel called to.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can provide the best Children’s Ministry programming and space possible so that our children will be excited to come to church each week, in an environment where they can learn who Jesus is and grow in our faith, in a building that offers parents the comfort of safety, security, and love for their children.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can provide direction, room, time, and training in order to become a church of disciple-making disciples.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can have a designated space for an interactive prayer room where members of our church and community can come to pray and come to learn how to pray in order to deepen their relationship with Jesus.
Sharing Jesus
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can always be known as a church that makes room for those in our community being drawn to Jesus with a culture of open hearts, open seats, open hands in generosity, and open timelines for spiritual growth and transformation.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can initiate and hold ministry programming that will allow us to invest in missional, relational, and needs-based pre-evangelism efforts to draw people to Jesus.
Multiplication
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can launch and house both “The Journey Ministry School” and “The Journey Bible Institute”, two training institutions that will help train and equip the next generation of volunteers, leaders, full-time ministry workers, pastors, and missionaries to fulfill the work of the ministry that God has called our church to accomplish.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can provide new ministry environments where new volunteers and leaders can be raised up and released to grow into their full leadership and ministry gifting.
Generosity
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that so we can draw and minister to every person in our community who believes they’ve been “blessed to bless” through the gift of generosity. We have a 25-Year goal to see our church invest $20 Million dollars into community impact, global missions, and church-planting through the people that God will send to our church once there is room for them to attend.
Community Impact
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can have more room to become a spiritual hospital in our community to those who need spiritual counseling, comfort, emotional healing and hope through Jesus. We hope to exponentially grow our current restoration ministries such as “Divorce Care”, “Grief Share”, “Celebrate Recovery”, and “Financial Peace University” with more room in our facility.
We believe it is important at this time in our church to create more space so that we can initiate our dream of an affordable and available counseling program so that we can help be a solution to the mental health crisis crippling our society and those dealing with a brokenness that requires long-term, affordable, Christian counseling.
VISION PREMISE
Journey Church International was founded and exists as a response to the vision and calling that God gave Pastor Christian Newsome in Seoul, South Korea, on October 23, 2009, to be a church that exists to see people far from God become passionate Christians who make a difference in the world.
Working with the Launch Network for 9 months in 2011, the vision was boiled down to 5 Core Beliefs that would be pursued intentionally and with intensity so that the vision for JCI might be accomplished. This Difference Maker Campaign revolves around the impact that Journey Church International can have in these 5 areas in the next 25 years of ministry if we move intentionally and with intensity towards healthy impact in each of these areas.
