Local Impact
We believe that we are called to be a church that is for our community, not just in our community.
We are constantly seeking out ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a broken, hurting world. We have many different ways to serve our community throughout the year. Our outreach focuses on 4 main needs: poverty relief, strengthening families, serving those who serve, and supporting schools.
Serve Week is one of our favorite weeks of the year as a church. We spend a whole week focusing on serving the community with multiple serve projects every day.
Serve Week 2022 was a huge success thanks to so much of our Journey family donating their time and energy. In one week, we saw close to 800 volunteers complete a collective total of 2,287 serving hours! Our volunteer teams served 2,682 meals, collected and sorted 3,500 lbs of donated food, handed out 2,110 lbs of food, raised $1,650 for one of our local serving partners, gave 80 pints of blood, and served over 250 families in need at our back-to-school drive.
This level of impact isn’t possible without all of you, and we hope you’ll join us again for this year’s Serve Week. Check out the projects we have going on and sign up for a few! Register by June 18th to ensure a free t-shirt.
JOURNEY IMPACT CENTER
The Journey Impact Center is a safe place for anyone to receive free food and clothing as well information on community resources for assistance with other needs such as housing, mental health and more. Guests can set up shopping appointments throughout the week on our website at takethejourney.cc/journey-impact-center/
VOMO – SERVING PORTAL
VOMO is our online serving portal for all volunteers. You can access VOMO through this website or the mobile App. We ask that you create a one-time account in your name with our organization. When you create an account for the first time, it’ll ask you for an organization code (ours is “JOURNEY”). That’s it! Once you create an account, and use the code “JOURNEY”, you will be able to sign up for any serve projects!

We want to make a difference in our community all year long! Every first Saturday of the month, we partner with a local ministry to serve with as well as serving at our Journey Impact Center. Sign up to serve with us at the next Serve Saturday!

We believe partnering up with local ministries can make an even greater impact in our community if we do it together! Our local mission partners include: Coldwater, Heart-n-Hand, Pro Deo, Rachel House, Rended Heart, LSR7, NourishKC, Ray-Pec Caring About Nutrition (CAN).
