Hey, we get it – marriage is hard. While your significant other may be the love of your life, the strains of daily life – kids, finances, jobs, conflicting schedules, cultural expectations, family dynamics, you name it – can make maintaining a healthy relationship a massive battle.
Here at Journey, we believe strongly in whole life health, and a huge part of that is having healthy relationships. Other than our relationship with Jesus, our relationship with our spouse or significant other is likely the most important one we’ll have in our lives.
Luke 6:38 says, “For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” This applies in every area of life, including in your marriage. We hope you’ll consider attending our marriage and relationship conference and use it as a time to pour into one another and reconnect both with your faith and with each other.
This conference will be happening on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th right here at Journey Church in Lee’s Summit. If you are unable to attend in person, we will also be live streaming the entire conference. The cost to attend in person is $50 per couple, and the online event will be $25 per couple.

SPECIAL GUEST COUPLE DANIEL & TAMMIE FLOYD
We’re excited for special guests Daniel and Tammie Floyd from Lifepoint Church in Fredericksburg, VA to lead our 2023 marriage conference. Married for 18 years, Daniel and Tammie founded Lifepoint Church in 2005 and have grown it from 50 people to a multi-campus church that serves thousands on a weekly basis.
The Floyds are good friends to Journey, and are passionate about the local church and reaching people far from God. We can’t wait to have them on stage with us talking about faith, marriage, kids, and life.

Pastor Christian and his wife Danielle have been married since July 1999 and have two children, Christian II and Kasey. In December of 2010 the Newsomes moved to Kansas City and began meeting with a small group of families with a dream to start Journey Church International in Lee’s Summit.
Their goals for your spiritual journey at our church are the same as their own for their family: that you would grow spiritually, share Jesus, live generously, impact your community, impact your world, and become a disciple who makes disciples.

We’ll also be welcoming Marcellus Casey back to the stage, along with his wife, Stephanie. After playing football and serving as a sports chaplain at Northwest Missouri State University, Marcellus married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie. Stephanie is currently working towards her master’s in theology from Northern Seminary, and together they both have over 17 years of experience in ministry.
Marcellus is currently serving in his sixth season as the chaplain for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Stephanie serves in the same capacity for the players’ wives. They recently celebrated 17 years of marriage and are both passionate about learning and teaching God’s Word.

Any couple who is married, engaged, or talking about getting engaged is welcome! Regardless of age, stage, or season, this conference is designed for every couple.
Absolutely, and we hope they do! Feel free to invite as many couples as you like, regardless of whether or not they attend or are engaged at Journey.
In order for every couple to truly focus on their relationship with each other, childcare will not be provided at the conference and children of any age will not be allowed in the sessions. Our hope is that this will be a time for you and your partner to get away and be free from distraction so you can receive all God has for you.
In order to have an accurate head count for food and supplies, pre-registration is strongly recommended and much appreciated. However, we will also have on-site registration set up at the start of the conference.
If you are registering for the virtual event, you will need to register ahead of time in order to receive the link to watch live.
We know things come up; however, we hope you’ll understand that conference registration is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Registration fees cover the cost of supplies and experience elements, as well as breakfast on Saturday.
Nope! We’ll have everything you need ready to go at the conference. Coffee and refreshments will be available throughout the conference. However, feel free to bring a notebook, your Bible, an extra pen, and/or a water bottle. Otherwise, come as you are!
