Care Groups

When Life Gets Hard, Find Hope and Healing at Our Church in Lee’s Summit

God never promised life wouldn’t be hard, but He did promise that we don’t have to walk through hard times alone. Our Care Groups offer judgment-free environments where you can feel loved, supported, and encouraged to keep moving forward, even in the midst of what seems like a storm.

Regardless of the struggles you may be experiencing, you’ll receive guidance and compassion from our kindhearted, empathetic leaders and build community with others going through similar circumstances.

Explore our group options and join us whenever you’re ready. You are loved here.

Grief Recovery Group

Losing someone you love is indescribably painful, but you don’t have to grieve alone. Every spring and fall, Journey elder and grief counselor Jeff O’Dell leads our Grief Recovery Care Groups at 6:30 P.M. on Thursdays, giving you the tools you need to cope with complex emotions and continue living the life your loved one would want for you. Surround yourself with a caring and supportive community who understands the season of life you’re in.

DivorceCare

Separation from a spouse can lead to hurt and feelings of loneliness. DivorceCare, which meets at 6:30 P.M. every Monday at our church in Lee’s Summit, is a divorce recovery support group where you can find comfort and work toward healing in a healthy, nonjudgmental community.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program showing the loving power of Jesus to anyone struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Every Monday at 6:30 P.M., we provide a safe place to share experiences, victories, and hopes with others who are going through the same journey. We’re an anonymous group, so registration isn’t required.

Limited, free childcare is available by pre-registration only. Note that childcare registration is not anonymous.

Journey for Life

Our Journey for Life Care Group was created to comfort and empower teen and young mothers who are currently experiencing (or have recently experienced) an unexpected pregnancy. With love and support as our foundation, we can offer hope for the future and help each other heal from past hurts.

Every Monday at 6:30 P.M., we’ll meet and enjoy a meal together. Free childcare is provided with pre-registration.

Never Alone Widows Group

Our Never Alone Care Group is hosted by Kaycee Sewchok, who became a widow at the age of 37 when her husband, Tony, went to heaven in April 2018. She started this group so that widows know they will survive this season and that God has not forgotten them. Her goal is to bring hope and community to widows at all ages and stages of life in the Kansas City area.

Never Alone Widows meets once a month at our church on Monday evenings at 6:30 P.M. and offers free childcare with pre-registration.
