MEANINGFUL SMALL GROUPS FOR WHEN LIFE GETS HARD

God never promised life wouldn’t be hard, but He did promise that we don’t have to walk through hard times alone. Our Care Groups offer environments where you can feel fully known and fully loved, without judgement or shame.

Regardless of what struggles you may be going through, our loving, compassionate leaders are here to offer support, guidance, and community-building with others going through similar circumstances. All of our Care Groups meet on Monday evenings at our church in Lee’s Summit. Free childcare is available by pre-registration only. Our childcare is limited, and therefore granted on a first come, first served basis. If you’re in need of childcare, please indicate this on the individual group registration forms. You will be taken through an additional registration process to reserve your childcare spot(s).

GRIEF RECOVERY GROUP

Grief is indescribably hard, but you don’t have to go through it alone. This spring, Journey elder and grief counselor Jeff O’Dell will be leading two Grief Recovery Care Groups: one that meets on Tuesdays beginning April 11th, and one that meets on Thursdays beginning April 13th. Be surrounded by a caring and supportive community who understands the season of life you’re in.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a divorce recovery support group where you can find help and healing for the hurt of separation. In this group, you can find comfort and support in a healthy, nonjudgmental community. We meet every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus. We provide a safe place to share experiences, victories, and hopes with others who are going through the same journey. We are an anonymous group, so registration isn’t required. We meet at the church in Lee’s Summit every Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m. Limited, free childcare is available by pre-registration only. Note that childcare registration is not anonymous.

Journey for Life

Journey for Life was created specifically for teen and young mothers who are currently, or have recently experienced, an unexpected pregnancy. You don’t have to go through this alone. We’ll enjoy a meal together, and free childcare will be provided (with pre-registration). Our group meets the second Monday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Journey Church in Lee’s Summit.

Never Alone Widows Group

Never Alone will be hosted by Kaycee Sewchok, who became a widow at the age of 37 when her husband, Tony, went to heaven in April 2018. She created this group so that widows would know they will survive this season and that God has not forgotten them. Her goal is to bring hope and community to widows at all ages and stages in the Kansas City metro area. This group will meet once a month on Monday evenings at 6:30 P.M. at Journey Church in Lee’s Summit. Free childcare is available with pre-registration.
