By accepting Jesus into your heart, you believe that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again. Because of His sacrifice, we are promised eternal life with God in Heaven. When you’ve reached this point in your spiritual journey, you’re ready to be baptized.
Baptism allows you to go public with your decision to become a Christian. In front of family, friends, and your church community, it’s your chance to make your faith known and say, “I believe.”
The Bible clearly teaches us that baptism is the first act of obedience after committing your life to Jesus, and at Journey Church International, we want to help you take this next step. It’s our belief that you’re never too young or old to be baptized; it’s all about your personal choice to follow Jesus. This is why we offer baptism to believers at every age and stage of life.
In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, we learn that Jesus was baptized on the banks of the Jordan River by John the Baptist, being immersed in the water and rising out of it. Because Jesus was baptized by immersion, every baptism we do at our church in Lee’s Summit happens through immersion.
You can schedule your baptism with us at any time. We also host several baptism events throughout the year.
At Journey Church International, we believe that your choice to have a personal relationship with Jesus is, well, personal. No matter your age, we want your decision to follow Him to be yours and yours alone. We offer kids and students baptism services for those who are ready to announce Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
If you have a new little one, we also provide child dedication celebrations, where our community will pray for your family and you’ll acknowledge your commitment to raising your child in a Godly home.
Baptism is a significant next step in your spiritual journey. We want you to feel completely and wholly confident in being born again as a Christian. If you’d like more information about getting baptized, reach out to us! We’ll be happy to talk you through our process in more depth and help you understand what baptism looks like at our church in Lee’s Summit.
Baptism is only just the beginning of your spiritual journey. Our non-denominational church offers all kinds of ways for you to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus, including small groups, serving opportunities, Bible study, and more.
