Lee’s Summit isn’t only where our church is located; it’s our home. We live, work, and worship here and desire to see our community thrive.
When it comes to making a difference, many Christians think about traveling to the other side of the world on a mission trip. Although our global work is important, we know our efforts are just as necessary in Kansas City.
Two of the ways we accomplish this are through the Journey Impact Center and benevolence donations. These local outreach opportunities help us go beyond preaching the Gospel. By helping those in need, we’re able to better our community and show the love of Jesus in action.
Whether you’re wanting to volunteer or are looking for assistance for you and your family, we want you to know that Journey cares. Learn more about our community outreach and how we’re striving to live like Christ.
“And the crowds asked him, ‘What then shall we do?’ And he answered them, ‘Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.’”
Luke 3:10-11
The Journey Impact Center is so much more than a food pantry. We offer a safe place for anyone to get free food and clothing and provide community resources for assistance with housing, mental health, and more.
Located in Lee’s Summit, the Journey Impact Center exists to meet people’s physical needs through radical generosity. Our hope and prayer is that everyone who shops with us feels welcome and experiences God’s love.
Life can prove challenging at any point, and it can be difficult to make ends meet. If you’re going through financial hardship, we encourage you to fill out our benevolence application, which offers assistance with utility payments, housing costs, and more.
Life can be inexplicably hard. But God gave us community, so we wouldn’t have to go through those hard times alone. Our Care Groups offer supportive environments for individuals struggling with pain, loss, addiction, or grief, allowing them to heal and connect with others in similar circumstances.
When you’re navigating life’s hurts, you need a strong support system. We want to help however we can and have additional grief and mental health resources, so you can move forward on your healing journey.
If you’d like to make food or clothing donations to the Journey Impact Center, that’s great! Currently, we’re only accepting non-perishable food items (get ideas here!), in-season clothes, and hygiene items.
You can drop off donations at the Journey Impact Center from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Mondays. We also accept donations of food only at our church during our office hours of 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Thursday, and before or after Sunday services.
