After the season of Lent comes the season of Easter, also known as Eastertide. During this fifty-day period, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the hope found in that one act. On the seventh Sunday following Easter comes the day of Pentecost. In the Christian calendar, Pentecost celebrates the coming the of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church.
We’ve curated several resources to help you walk through the season following Easter and continue growing in your faith by deepening your understanding of how Christ’s death and resurrection truly changed the world.
For this year’s Pentecost Reading Challenge, we’ll focus on the acts of the Apostles and the “general epistles”. The book of Acts tells the story of the Spirit’s arrival on the day of Pentecost and the spread of the early Church through missional evangelism. The general epistles are letters written by various apostles which appear to be addressed to the whole Church instead of to specific churches or people.
