How to be a Difference Maker in this position: Our Social Media team is comprised of creative individuals who have a knack for visual storytelling. If you love making polished, professional reels; taking candid photos of in-the-moment happenings; and writing snappy post captions, then this is the perfect team for you! This role has both in-person weekend and remote, weekday serve opportunities.

Graphic Design Specialist

How to be a Difference Maker If you have an eye for design and up-to-date skills in Adobe design products and/or Canva, then the Design Team could be a great fit. The Graphic Design Team uses their creativity to come up with visuals to support all our ministry efforts. We use designs in a wide range of media, including web graphics, templates, social media graphics, emails, print material, and more.

This is a flexible, remote serve role.

How to be a Difference Maker in this position: The Video Content Team assists the Communications Team in capturing content for special events and projects for the church body, including content for in-service, web videos, social posts, and more. This includes coordinating shoots, capturing videos, and editing a polished, professional video.

  • You do not have to commit to each session - volunteer teams rotate throughout the year

How to be a Difference Maker in this position:

  • Pray regularly for the refugees coming to our city
  • On the first Saturday of every month from 9:00-2:00, work on a home that is being transformed to host a refugee family
  • Perform very minor construction work - no skill is required - alongside refugees from Tanzania, Malawi, and the Congo
  • Build relationships with the family and those you're serving with
  • Lunch, dancing, and laughter are provided

  • No skills needed
  • Volunteers should be 5 years old or older
  • Please wear close-toed shoes and bring work gloves

The RefugeKC Team Member

  • Make sure every "New American Neighbor" has a Christian friend by:
  • Serving a meal for the RefugeKC English Language Learners class, and/or
  • Assisting students weekly in the ELL class, and/or
  • Helping with block parties in apartment complexes where a lot of the refugees live

  • Build Gospel-centered relationships in the Foxtown East neighborhood (near Swope Park) on the 2nd Saturday of every month through:
  • Giving away free food and clothing via our Mobile Impact Center
  • Serving a warm meal to attendees
  • Making a craft with the children
  • Playing games with kids and families
