Field Life is a ministry that helps cross-cultural workers stay healthy and effective so they can fulfill their calling in missions. Most global workers don’t have the relevant and ongoing care they need to ensure lasting impact on the field. Field Life is committed to serving missionaries on the field with neutral encouragement, coaching, and training for long-term success.
Beit Eliyahu is a Messianic Jewish Congregation located in Haifa, Israel. As Messianic believers, they believe that the promised Jewish Messiah has already come – Jesus! Their congregation of around 450 seeks to be a light amongst the Jewish people so that many more may come to know Jesus.
The mission at Back to the Bible Truth Evangelistic Mission (BBT) is to do practical evangelism based on true discipleship principles. Their goal is to create disciples that will foster a strong, constructive, and focused church by preaching the true Gospel of Christ our Lord and Savior. We are partners with BBT in the village of Zimudi, where our Total Village Transformation efforts are focused.
Cornerstone is a very vibrant church in Sterling that is standing strong to provide a place for people to know Jesus within a region where churches are declining. They partner with Young Life Scotland to help get the local students connected to a church.
Crown Jesus Ministries was started in 1999, by three young evangelists. These evangelists had a vision to see every soul won for Jesus across Ireland. Their aim is to effectively communicate the Gospel, and to engage with kids, youth, and adults. They do this through a number of ways such as specific kids programs, student outreach through schools and churches, and train adults in evangelism and discipleship across local churches. They also have a whole team that develops resources for evangelism training for churches and schools.
Life Pediatric Ministry is a small medical clinic in the town of Santiago, Dominican Republic, that provides medical care for under-resourced children and families. They also seek to share the Gospel with these families and connect them to the local church, New Life Baptist Church. Not only do they engage in weekly medical care, the ministry also hosts 1-2 larger outreaches each year to share the Gospel with children and families while helping to meet physical needs through the provision of food, clothes, and school supplies.
Hope of Life serves hundreds of communities and thousands of people in Eastern Guatemala by working to fight malnutrition and alleviate poverty. A few of their diverse programs include serving the vulnerable through an elderly home, an orphanage, a special needs home, and a hospital where malnourished children are treated. Hope of Life provides several other services such as vocational and pastoral training, and thousands of youth from rural villages pass through each year, hearing the Gospel and making decisions for Christ.
Catch the Vision International serves in the Amazon regions of Iquitos, Peru, working with pastors and through the local churches to meet needs in the surrounding communities. Their outreach includes assisting in pastoral training, the construction of schools and churches, medical outreach, and providing clean water in communities.
The Latin American Missions Society was established in 2023 and exists to equip local churches in Panama and Latin America with a Biblical understanding of missions. LAMS also assists local churches to send Panamanians to the nations, as well as provides practical support for missionaries currently serving in the Darién region between Panama and Colombia.
Village Transformation | Uganda
Zimuddi
In Zimuddi, Uganda, Journey has been involved in a village transformation project since 2022. Together with ministry leaders in Uganda, our church has engaged in medical care bringing health and the hope of Jesus to hundreds, clean water projects, the construction of a school which provides education and discipleship for children of all ages, sponsorship for around 200 children, and recently, the planting of Journey Church Zimuddi, led by Pastor Francis. Many dear relationships have been formed, and the church is continuing to grow.
Village Transformation | Guatemala
Las Sidras
Journey began partnership with the village of Las Sidras in 2018. Since then, our church has engaged in sponsorship for nearly 100 children, food distribution and clean water projects, medical care, classroom and school renovations, and the construction of several homes as well as a church building. After 8 years of investing in this village transformation project, we are beginning to see how generations are being transformed through sponsorship, education, and the Gospel.
Peña Blanca
In continuation, a partnership with a more remote village, Peña Blanca, began in the year 2021. Similarly to Las Sidras, the projects in Peña Blanca have included food and water distribution, school, church, and home renovations, medical care, sponsorship for around 50 children, and a project is currently underway to provide a more reliable water source to the community. Most importantly the Gospel continues to be shared in these communities during our teams’ visits and by local pastors.
Some may be unable to go on a mission trip, but there are many opportunities to serve the un-reached right here in Kansas City! We partner with organizations that welcome refugees, immigrants, and international students, helping them with English and other practical needs, and with the goal of sharing the love of Christ.
Many immigrants and refugees come from countries where there is little Christian presence, and the consequences for becoming a Christian or sharing one’s faith are extreme. God has brought large populations of people from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Burma, Nepal, the Congo (DRC), Somalia, Sudan, and many more to our city. You can engage these populations now through the following ministries!
Agape Pamoja is a local non-profit that serves the multi-faceted needs of refugees from war-torn countries residing in Kansas City. They provide housing assistance, educational support, food, clothing, life skills, and leadership development. There are opportunities to serve through construction, gardening, and home renovations, providing meals, or mentorship of a student.
The mission of RefugeKC is to welcome new American neighbors with Gospel-focused ministries of mercy. They provide youth and children’s programs, English classes, as well as train churches to engage with refugee populations in our city. One of the largest needs is for volunteers to help with one-on-one English tutoring on Saturday mornings.
International Student Fellowship exists on UMKC campus, and their mission is that every international student experience genuine friendship and learns about the Christian faith. This is done through events, weekend retreats, Bible studies, and sometimes host family opportunities. You can partner by preparing meals, attending events, or hosting students.
The Foster & Adopt Ministry at Journey serves children and families in crisis, both locally and around the world. Through adoption grants, meals & encouragement for foster families, meeting needs through CarePortal, partnerships with organizations that offer wraparound care for foster and adoptive families, and information and support through the domestic or international adoption process, we seek to ensure that every child and family feels seen, known, and loved by Jesus.
